I'm with matthew on the thread topic through, you must attack against the total AC of the victim, unless the spell says you don't. If add a save, just remove the attack roll. The chance of the spell working is based either on the saving throw of the target, or the armor class (and level of caster). I suppose for this one spell I could say it ignores armor and shield benefit.Ĭouldn't you just say it's a short range spell that requires a save, and ignore the touch aspect of it?įor most spells, they are ranged+save, or touch+no_save. I was wondering if making the to hit roll easier would be the way to go. But a to hit roll plus a save makes the spell kinda weak. spells with the magic attack adjustment from wisdom, so I want it to have a saving throw. I am adamant that all fear effects in my game get a save vs. Cause fear specifies a to hit roll, but not a saving throw.
